Charlie Foxtrot Brewing LLC

Nicolas York Served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Staff Sargeant, with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, before being medically discharged in 2017. During his separation preparation he joined the boots to business class and began his journey towards Charlie Foxtrot Brewing. After joining Florida Gulf Coast University in 2018 Nicolas switched majors from Business Management to Entrepreneurship which he received his degree in 2020. This allowed Nicolas to take advantage of their Business incubator and the Veterans Florida entrepreneurship program. Through these programs he was able to raise seed funding to start recipe development and research. After several failed attempts to find a location to brew on premise Nicolas decided to move forward with a three step business plan. Opening in January of 2024 Nicolas achieved this first step, opening a taproom to the public in Port Charlotte. Even with 6 years of constant set backs Nicolas was able to use the attributes he learned in the military to persevere, when others would have given up. Reaching his goal to Build Bonds of Brotherhood Through Craft Beer.

Born and raised in Port Charlotte! I know there aren’t many of us!

Florida of course although I’ve lived plenty of other places including Georgia, Michigan, Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman!

It’s been so long… Jai Alai

What is your favorite part about working at Charlie Foxtrot Brewing?

I love all of our guests! Everyone is so happy to be there and the connections I see made within a few minutes of meeting to the hours they sit next to each other is priceless. 

What do you like to do when you're not working?

I enjoy hanging out with my family and all the tiny friends, going to concerts, drinking craft beer, wine or bourbon!

I’m so proud to be a part of a team that serves a great community! It’s an honor to help serve those that have served this country so that we have the freedom to drink such amazing beer with people we love!

What was your first craft beer? Not sure, but I can remember going to several beer tasting events and sampling everything they had to offer to get a taste of what I liked.

What is your favorite part about working at Charlie Foxtrot Brewing? I love seeing our patrons fulfilling our mission of Building Bonds of Brotherhood Through Craft Beer. I’ve witnessed it multiple times firsthand through people who stopped by to have a good craft beer and stayed longer than expected, all while enjoying the company and camaraderie of others they didn’t know before coming to CFB.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? Spending time with my wife and kids and listening to music

What's your favorite beer style? I'm a fan of pretty much anything. If I have to choose one I'd pick IPA's and Sours

What's your favorite beer? That's rough. My current obsession is the 81bay coffee porter! 

What was your first craft beer? Yuengling 

What's your favorite part about working at Charlie Foxtrot Brewing?

I love every part of dedication they put into this place. I love that family is first and it's all about conversation and getting to know new people not through a screen. 

What do you like to do when you're not working? I like to find new gems in Florida, love to paddleboard or really anything that involves water and some beer.
